I have been doing some bartering on Craigslist for my photography services. My most recent trade was with a woman and her horse, Pocket. Here are a few photos from the shoot:
In trade, she gave me a BEAUTIFUL Ashford Traditional spinning wheel from New Zealand. Pardon my swooning (and ignore the Xbox keeping her company).
I am hoping to learn to spin on a wheel over the next couple weeks and then have some wheel-spun yarn to show you.
Do you ever do any bartering or trading?
Those are some beautiful pics for a beautiful wheel - Congrats! I love to barter. I've traded knitting a sweater for 8 lovely skirts (with shorts sewn into 6 of them) for my two girls - we each bought the materials, then traded time. I've traded a crocheted hat for some pictures taken by one of my friends. I trade for piano lessons for my kids - I love bartering because everyone gets what they need (in the perfect scenarios at least) by using their skills rather than using our limited amount of cash.

What amazing shots! I never thought about bartering...now I need to think more on it. I too just got an Ashford Traditional. Quite the learning curve for me, but is so fun. I watched some great videos on youtube to get the hang of it.

kristen - i love your site! i teared up reading your post about the special olympics. you are such an amazing mother and advocate for abbi that i am in awe. abbi has definately made a special place in my heart that i hope will never go away. i am happy for your family that you are moving on in kevin's career, but sad to see ya'll go. i have seen abbi come into the classroom and scream for 90% of the day and transform to where she is now - following schedules, participating in special olympics, and genuinly(sp) happy. i am glad to say that i have been a part in abbi's life, even if only for a short time. you have two very special girls.
my blog is no where near yours - just a hokey (not honkey....haha) blog to keep family and friends up to date on the kids. check it out when you can...

Whoa! Lucky! I've had some pretty awesome barters, but I think that takes the cake. The things I'd give for a spinning wheel. Man, time to hit up craigslist! :)
